Gli Evanescence sono un gruppo musicale gothic rock statunitense, formatosi a Little Rock nel 1995. La band prende il nome dalla parola "evanescenza", ossia lo stato o l'atto di svanire.
La loro musica è caratterizzata da una fusione di elementi alternative metal, gothic metal (soprattutto agli esordi) e nu metal con influenze sinfoniche ed elettroniche.
